Oakburn has existed at a small riverside Village for 220 years. It began as a site for traders to camp on their way from Ebenau to the logging camps and ranches north along the Reaching Woods.
Oakburn gets its name from an incident at the campsite. A halfling Priest of Tymora was camping along the riverbank on his way to visit his family ranch of the Goldburrows Clan. While resting under the shade of a great oak, the Halfling was set upon by Gnolls. The Priest called down a Flame Strike from the heavens, destroying and routing the warband. The Oak under which he rested caught fire and burned for 2 days but was not destroyed, but flourished. This was seen as a sign from the Deity of Luck, and so a town grew up around the Oak itself.
